Cash Relief for Texas Flood Survivors

You can send funds directly to low-income families hit hardest by flash floods in Central Texas.
On July 4, flash floods struck Central Texas, damaging homes, taking lives, and forcing hundreds to evacuate. Some areas saw over 20 inches of rain in a matter of hours — more than what they typically get in a month — putting entire neighborhoods underwater and sweeping away critical infrastructure.
In communities like Kerr County, Texas, floodwaters stranded families on rooftops and caused power and road outages that left entire regions inaccessible.
We are delivering cash to low-income families in the hardest-hit areas. Families will each receive $2,400 in emergency cash will help cover their immediate needs, such as:
- 🍛 Essentials like food, water, medicine, generators, and diapers
- 🏨 Shelter and hotel stays while evacuated
- 💳 Bills for their phone, healthcare, and utilities
Your donations will reach those in greatest need quickly and remotely
We are using disaster damage and poverty data to identify the highest-need communities. We then target and enroll low-income survivors fully remotely through Propel, an app used to manage food stamp benefits. Recipients will be paid via bank transfer, virtual card, or mailed prepaid card through GiveCard.
This cash will help hundreds of families meet their own urgent needs and rebuild their lives
Cash aid allows survivors to meet their own needs rather than having others guess for them — which is why people impacted by a crisis say they prefer cash relief over donated goods.
Achieving our current fundraising goal will enable us to reach hundreds of families in greatest need. We have the capacity to deliver much more, so with more funds, we could expand to reach hundreds of additional people.

Who is eligible to receive money?
We use damage and poverty data to identify the highest-need communities, and then enroll and pay impacted families.
What if we raise more or less than the fundraising goal?
Any excess funds will help us deliver cash to more impacted families. If for any reason we are unable to deliver all funds to Texas flood survivors, donations will be delivered to survivors of the next emergency.
How much will each family receive?
Each family will receive $2,400 to help them recover and rebuild their lives. The transfer amount is designed to cover the cost of common post-disaster recovery items.
When will people receive my donation?
We’ve identified communities in greatest need, and are planning to enroll families starting July 9, with first payments being sent about one week after enrollment. We will update this page as more details are confirmed.
