On August 26, devastating flash floods swept through Himalayan river valleys in Nepal and the Tibet region of China. As of Thursday, more than 1,900 people are missing.
Shisir Khanal, foreign minister of Nepal, said that the floods were “one of the largest natural disasters we have experienced in recent memory.” Many miles of roads are unusable and communications infrastructure is damaged, making it difficult for rescuers and aid organizations to locate people and deliver food, medicine, and temporary shelters.
Our team is currently scoping a response to deliver emergency cash to families in Nepal. Cash relief can help survivors cover immediate needs, such as:

- 🏨 Shelter and temporary housing while displaced from damaged or collapsed homes
- 💳 Bills for phone, utilities, and healthcare for those with injuries
